We start this tour by visiting the Royal Temple of Taman Ayun at Mengwi. Then continue to Alas Kedaton ,well known as monkey forest where live thousands of holy monkeys. Finally the trip is enjoying sunset at Tanah Lot where a famous old temple was built on a huge rock in the sea.

Denpasar City Tour

Shadow Puppet Show

Wayang Kulit or shadow puppet play is one of the most popular performances in Bali. The figures of the Wayang Kulit can move and speak manipulated by a puppeteer or a dalang. It is usually performed in relation to Balinese religious ceremonies, such as: three months old of a baby, an otonon or 210 day old of baby or a cremation. It is also held in temple festivals or in order to sweep away dirt or nyapuleger (only for those who were born on Tumpek Wayang day) or simply for entertainment (rame-rame). Now you have an opportunity to see this old community’s school in a shadow puppet show while enjoying your favorite dishes.  

Legong Dance

The classical Legong Kraton Dance was performed for king’s entertainment. It is performed by three girls dressed in gold brocades and flowered headdresses. The story tells King Lasem kidnapped Princess Rangkasari, the daughter of Daha King. Her brother demanded King Lasem to set her free otherwise facing a war but the king refused. On the way to the war he met an eagle that was a bad omen and eventually he was killed. Ubud and its surroundings is one of the most beautiful villages in Bali where we can find lots of talented artisans. We will see the hand made Batik painting at Tohpati, then Celuk, home of gold and silversmiths, and Mas, famous for its fine woodcarvings. A visit to a local family compound in Singapadu will give us a new perspective on the way of life of this friendly people. Afterwards we will proceed to Ubud, where we will see the best examples of Balinese paintings of classical, naïve, traditional and modern style. The dramatic view of rice terraces at Tegal Lalang is our next stop before watching the Kecak and Fire Dance at Batubulan.
